Your impression on the Mach 2 it´s almost right!!!.
I happen to have the Mach 2 and the Rareplanes DC-4. I´m almost certain that the "best" offering is the one from Rareplanes.
However, if the only "easy available" one is the Mach 2 and I "need" to have a 1/72 DC-4 in my collection, will have to go with the Mach2 knowing beforehand that it will involve a lot and I mean a lot of surgery and modifications. Anyway, I always liked modeling challenges and close to impossible kits.
My two cents, guess that other fellow AMD´ers can also comment on this.

I'm wondering if anyone in the group has any experience or comments on this kit? Is it worth the effort, or should I just pass it by?
