Re: [Titanaircraft] Take off power loss pitch up

After reading your posts about practicing the return to runway manuevers I decided to try it in the 172....I set up for climbout trim and speed...When I cut the throttle I was amazed at how much force it took to counteract the trim to get the nose over and avoid stalling...on my first attempt I lost 400' on my next three I was coming in at about 270'...now I have to practice with the aircraft loaded to see what I need, but i don't think I'd try without 350' by myself  and probably 450' loaded...Fun manuever at 3500' and definately worth practicing often....I've had quite a few instructors, but not one has had my do that...This site is full of interesting stuff....please keep it coming...Tim T.

Subject: [Titanaircraft] Take off power loss pitch up

Hello all,

Do any of you have experience with power loss on take off?

Do you encounter a pretty severe pitch up?

Thanks
Ed Baker
