Re: [AMD] Any problems with the Revell/Matchbox Twin Otter?

Carlos,

Don't know if you would want to fix it, but the 1/72 scale Matchbox Twotter kit has the gear molded in the "flying" position.  When on the ground, there is a definate vertical "disconnect" in the main gear legs where they fair into the fuselage.  May not look pretty, but that's the way it works.  The heavier the load, the bigger the disconnect.  The nose gear is probably molded the same way, so shorten the oleo to suit.  I'll try to get some photos, but our local Twin Otter is usually very busy delivering shydivers to their sport.

Hi Randie, thanks for your answer. The Internet Modeler article I remember when it was first published and only mentions small issues. I searched the archives and an appraisal of a 1/144 kit based on the Matchbox one referred several major inacuracies like the wrong position of the wing. I'm not sure if the 1/72 kit has such errors.

Regards,
Carlos
