Actually Gerry, it was on Hawthorne Blvd, in Torrance. Paul Freiler's historical Models. Paul retired, closed the shop, and moved to Palm Desert. Allen still lives in this area. The model is currently at the small museum at the former West Imperial Terminal, at LAX. I never remember the actual name. Allen has models of the airliners he has built that have flown into LAX, all 1/144, and military aircraft built and flown in Southern Cal., all in 1/48.
Allen switched from the purple resin to green, but now he uses a cream color resin that doesn't shrink or smell. No conversion kits though.

Maybe it's Allen's new compound. Very nice engraved panel lines on the L1011-500, 747SP and MD-80, and the DC-9's were done very well with good lobe crease detail. His IPMS Nationals-winning Braniff 747SP conversion used to be on display at the hobby shop on Sepulveda Blvd. south of LA, but the shop is long gone. Too bad, as it was a good source of airliner plastic and decals.Gerry Cole - DEN
